Dr. Dietrich became a licensed dental surgeon in 2011 and operated a successful dentistry practice for 4 years. While practicing full-time dentistry, Dr. Dietrich completed a master’s degree in biomaterials science from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil. One month after completing her master’s, she started a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Dentistry with an emphasis in biomaterials science, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Dietrich’s research in biomaterials resulted in the development of novel healthcare technologies including anti-infective adhesive coatings as well as dental tissue regeneration methods. She has published 3 peer-reviewed scientific articles and presented her research at professional conferences in Germany and Brazil. Dr. Dietrich became a post-doctoral scientist at Andira in 2020, conducting research and development within the Prof. Charles Thompson Laboratory, UBC Department of Microbiology & Immunology.
